I dare you to find any sort of resemblance between this band and the whiny makeup wearing crabcore you see haunting malls and skate parks nationwide. mathy, complex passages give way to cool "about as clean a sound you can get from a cranked amp" passages. The singer eschewed a mike in favor of just fucking yelling at the top of his lungs at shows for god's sake. Yes, its "emotional" music. But I'd put it in the same camp as Harvey Milk. Shit that just makes me scratch my head until it finally hits me. It's really, really good. Raw emotion that cannot be placed in any one category. Transcendent.
